Pest Water Fowl ManagementAustralian Landscape Management has recently undertaken investigations for an urban municipality to provide the basis for policy and strategy development in the management of pest water fowl on council lakes and ponds. Issues addressed included:
- interbreeding and contamination of the native duck gene pool
- problems that non native ducks cause
- legislative requirements for control
- humane issues
- timing and techniques
- strategies used by other landscape managers
Australian Landscape Management used specialist sub-consultants and provided a detailed response to these issues.
