It was exciting to visit Taylors Creeks 15 years after the early planning and design works were carried out.
Taylors Creek has been transformed from degraded and hazardous wasteland to vibrant open space with strong conservation and scenic values. All works have been broadscale. Initially a sustainable setting for parks maintenance was established by removal of rubbish and vigorous noxious weeds and a recontouring of filled land. The next stage involved the establishement of a broad suite of overstorey indigenous vegetation. Finally the protection and enhancement of this work by fencing, weed control, encouragement of natural regeneration and additional planting has provided a robust system ready for the next stage of development.
