It is possible that we will be entering Stage 2 water restrictions soon if there is not significant rainfall in our catchments. This will ban all irrigation of sportsfields whilst allowing irrigation of public gardens lawn areas. At this time of year, a cool season turf with a 75mm root zone of loam soil is still likely to require irrigation every 9 days to maintain moderate growth. Under these restrictions, playing surfaces are likely to deteriorate.
