Australian Landscape Management to help you review service and establish Best Value for your community
We can help you to:
- Identify and provide a description of clear standards for current and future services
- Implement a comprehensive process of review, involving stakeholders/community
- Undertake operational planning and demand analysis
- Develop structured improvement strategies and systems to maximise stakeholder satisfaction
Have you ever considered that ...
- Landscape management, particularly of public open space, is a complex activity involving many activities, variable workloads and ongoing public surveillance.
- Alignment of operations design and council strategy requires explicit communication of required outcomes and the ability to allocate and control resources to achieve them
- Historically, landscape management has not emphasised operations management but now changing community expectations and customer service standards require improved performance.
We will help you to understand, implement and demonstrate best value.
Typical Best Value Process
Our best value services integrate fully with open space planning, development processes, management and day to day maintenance.
Benefits of effective service review include ...
Service Planning
- Identify appropriate services required by the community
- Determine appropriate service delivery models
Reliable and consistent service
- Identify service standards and use them to determine resource allocation and work plans
- Forecast changing demand and adjust capacity accordingly
Efficient resource use
- Standardise resource sets for efficiency in procurement and deployment
- Benchmark resource sets to set production targets and assist work planning
Systematic planning and reporting
- Ensure that risks are adequately managed and specified service levels are met through selection of the most appropriate maintenance strategy
- Prepare work plans and inform other people in your organisation or the community, so that they know what is happening
Typical Best Value Process
Our service review provides a number of specialist methodologies for implementing the actions associated with each step of the process.
Defining service standards
- Writing specifications and defining standards which incorporate the Australian Quality Council Business Excellence Framework and other 'continuous improvement' tools.
-
- Involving staff in the definition of current standards provides the basis for all improvement activities. After testing the current standards with the stakeholders, staff can then understand proposed changes and the relative importance.
Community/Stakeholder consultation
- Through our association with Mr Peter Bone at A. C. Neilson, we conduct 'in park clinics' to complement our Best Value process. A qualitative approach is required and is achieved by taking a smaller focus group through a comprehensive process to understand their expectations. In this way, the most effective means to improve overall levels of satisfaction and enable better understanding of the change required, is achieved
Operational planning and review
- A range of methodologies and programs to involve staff and enhance skills in:
- understanding the demand workloads
- planning and developing work programs
- planning for capacity and resourcing services
- control and monitoring the delivery of service
-
- Our operations management services integrate fully with our TaskView© service and are also complemented by the SHARP Maintenance © program.
Structured continuous improvement
- The main potential benefit associated with best value is the opportunity to target improvements to service provision that are meaningful to the community. In order to ensure these are implemented across all areas structured continuous improvement programs are required.
Service pricing
- Services can be quoted on a fixed price or fee for service basis.
